Must Watch TV!

Kingdom

For anyone who hasn't seen this show, please do!. This show it too great to miss! Seriously. The first time I ever saw it was on PBS and instantly fell in love. I was excited when I found it on Neflix. Needless to say I've enjoyed watching this series all over again.

The Ghost Squad

So okay my que has so many movies and TV shows it's ridiculous. Many times I never get to actually watching them. One of the pitfalls of on-demand. Anyway I put Ghost Squad in my que. Finally got to watching it. I do have to say that the pilot ep gets taking used to. The cinematography is jarring to say the least, but when you look at the context of the episode; it fits perfectly. Watching the whole season or series as they say in the U. K. makes you really wish there were more series. It's a pity it was short lived.

Ultraviolet

Ah Ultraviolet. And I'm not talking about the movie that came out a few years ago. This series was short lived and damn good. Sci-fi when it was still called that, played the series during it's mini-series month every year. Man how the great has fallen huh. Anyway Fox planned on doing a U. S. remake with Idris Elba. Thank goodness that one didn't happen. Love Idris Elba, but seriously we all know what would have happened to that show. Doctor Who 1996, Life on Mars anyone!

Basically it's show about vampires, but they aren't ever really called that. You also have something of a mystery going on throughout the series. I have to say that that many British, Aussie etc. shows know how to be continuing, give you an arch without going overboard.

You'll get a kick out of a seeing an actor from True Blood who plays a vampire, well playing a vampire on Ultra V.

Sea Patrol

What can I say. MEN in Navy uniforms! Plus a few women too. I love this series. The first series gets you into the lives of the crew of the HMAS Hammersley. The first series isn't really big explosions etc. , but it makes up for that with a great mystery. In fact almost every season except for maybe the last two have a story arch. And I think they do fine in not going into soapsville.
